Combining Thermal Imaging & Air Pressure Testing
Thermal imaging, or thermography, allows the path of heat loss from a building’s surface to be visualised and quantified. Thermal imaging allows areas of high heat loss to be located quickly, and provides recommendations to remedy the problem areas.
The benefits of thermal imaging include:
Thermography can be used in conjunction with Air Pressure Testing to develop an extremely precise evaluation of a building envelope. Cold air leakage through a joint in the structure can be clearly illustrated using a combination of pressurisation (to produce negative pressure within the building), and thermal imaging (to visualise the cooling effect caused by cold air entering the building).
