Course Objectives

• Identify and respond appropriately to a child’s developmental needs in the home or in a childcare setting

• Outline the physical development process of a child between 0-6 years

• Describe and enhance a child’s cognitive and language development process

• Explain the factors that influence a child’s emotional and social development

• Understand the role of the childcare worker in a child’s development.

• Assignment = 30%

Entry Requirements

• National Vocational Certificate Level 4 OR

• Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualifications and/or relevant life and work experiences.
