Supervision in Childcare Training Course

Course Objectives

• Acquire the skills, knowledge and competence necessary to supervise an early childhood education and care setting

• Recognise the benefits of being a reflective practitioner

• Analyse relevant theory and assess its appropriateness in modern practice

• Develop the ability to lead, motivate and support a team

• The role and responsibility of a supervisor within a early childcare education and care setting

• Selection of appropriate supervision practices

• The process of planning, monitoring and evaluation of work programmes

• The importance of organisational skills in a supervisory role

• Planning, implementing and evaluating team meetings

• Problem solving and conflict resolution

• Effective teamwork and leadership skills

• Developing trustworthy relationships with relevant stakeholders e.g. parents and carers

• Acknowledging parent’s responsibilities and expectations

• Influence of parenting skills upon a child’s behavioural and learning disposition
