New Legislation
I.S. 3217:2008 is the new standard that applies to the design and commissioning of emergency lighting. I.S. 3217:2008 sets a required level of training for those designing and/or commissioning emergency lighting systems.
Entry requirements
Chevron Training do not set a pre qualification to attend this course, however we advise students that I.S. 3217:2008 outlines specific qualifications for those working with emergency lighting systems.
Who should attend this course
This course is aimed at designers, commissioners, engineers, energy engineers, lighting auditors, non domestic BER Assessors, architects, inspectors, facility managers, in general anyone responsible for either the design or commissioning of emergency lighting systems.
Certificate in Emergency Lighting for Designers and Commissioners
All students must attend the Common Module, followed by one or both of the Designer or Commissioner modules.

The two elective modules (design and commissioning) are held on successive days, allowing students who wish, to attend both.

PLEASE NOTE: all students will be provide with course material and lunch on each day of the course as part of their course fee.
Assessment:
For designers there is a design project and presentation (30%) plus a final exam (70%).
For commissioners, there is a project (20%), a Practical (5%) plus final exam (75%).
Jobseekers who satisfy the criteria for FÁS funding , may be able to attend Chevron Training’s FÁS funded training courses for free, as they will be able to avail of up to 100% funding for the course fee.
