Domestic Heat Recovery Ventilation Installation
Between 30% and 50% of heat loss in a dwelling can be attributed to ventilation, however as ventilation plays a key role in maintaining the health of occupants and the dwellings structure, and minimum requirements are set as per part F1 of the Building Regulations. A dilemma exists here, as homes need to both retain heat, and circulate air. How can buildings circulate air and be cost effective in terms of heat retention, when each function seems to counteract the other?
Heat Recovery Ventilation (HRV) is a technology that, whilst having been in existence for some time, is now becoming a mainstream product in Ireland. HRV’s offer an extremely efficient, health-beneficial, cost effective solution to ventilation. HRV’s use a unique approach to provide a continuous supply of clean, fresh air throughout the building while at the same time maximizing the value of the heat in the extracted air.
