In 2010, 5000 new jobs were created for insulation installers, 45,990 homeowners received HES grants resulting in 102,431 energy saving measures costing SEAI €45 million in grant aid. Over 62,000 households are benefiting from energy saving measures to date, with average savings of €450 per annum per dwelling. During 2010, over 90,000 BER Assessments were also completed.
A further 24,000 homes were upgraded in 2010 under the Warmer Homes Scheme. Over 61,000 home have been upgraded to date under the warmer homes scheme.
2011 saw the introduction of Better Energy - The National Upgrade Programme, launched in May 2011. This programme is a multi annual programme aimed at upgraded up to 1.1 million homes in Ireland over a 3 year period. The programme will deliver on a major government priority with a focus towards employment, cost and emission reduction. Minister Rabbitte committed a further €30 million to the scheme for 2011 which will go towards supporting a further 2,000 jobs this year.
Chevron Training’s Domestic Home Insulation training course covers both hands on, practical and background theory in topics such as an introduction to insulation materials, building regulations, how to assess a buildings insulation requirements, plumbing and electrical considerations together with health and safety requirements. |
