Lighting Design
As lighting accounts for a significant proportion of total energy costs, enhancing lighting efficiency is an effective way to reduce energy costs.
The personnel who have attained sufficient competences in the area of energy efficient lighting and design can devise a lighting system which will derive financial benefits for the customer through energy savings and the Accelerated Capital Allowance scheme.
The ACA is a tax incentive for those companies paying corporation tax and aims to encourage investment in energy efficient equipment. The ACA offers an attractive incentive whereby it allows companies to write off 100% of the purchase value of specified energy efficient equipment (including lighting equipment) against their profit in the year of purchase.
Furthermore, the government have placed much emphasis on the transition to energy efficient lighting designs and therefore adoption of an efficient lighting system would be in compliance with the relevant legislation e.g. building regulations state the mandatory level of fixed energy efficient lighting structures.
Ireland’s leading training provider, Chevron Training, has developed a comprehensive training programme that aims to provide learners with the necessary knowledge and skills:
· To assess the lighting requirements of new and existing buildings.
· To develop recommendations to improve the energy efficient lighting of such buildings.
