New Regulations for energy efficiency of lamps and lighting in Ireland

In 2008 the Minister for the Environment announced his intention to introduce an Energy Efficiency Standard for lamps.

Legislation set to be enforced by March 2009, with a minimum standard (lumens/watts) to be proposed. The EU (European Union) schedule for phasing out inefficient lamps and lighting still applies.
