Minister for the Environment Mr Phil Hogan confirmed on 31st May 2011 that the roll-out of water meters into 1.2 million households will commence at the start of 2012 and take 3 years to complete. Up to 2000 new jobs will be created for water meter installers by this initiative. In order to maximise your chances of securing employment in this area it is important that you become trained as a certified water meter installer well in advance of the roll-out date. It is anticipated that these jobs will be advertised throughout the winter months.
